這不是唱衰 是反應現實 是記取教訓 是亡羊補牢

2010年居民就發現推行觀光貓村所帶來的問題，

除了壓縮街貓生存的環境外，更令昔日純樸的小村莊人滿為患，

宣導生命教育不足，遊客公德心低下，

使當地居住環境受到嚴重的破壞和影響，

公部門未為當地居民與觀光中取得平衡。

當許多愛護猴硐的朋友呼籲猴硐不要再推銷觀光，造成街貓生存問題的同時，

卻見貓村推手跟公部門仍然不停奔波推動觀光，

但對當地街貓的福址卻未相對提升，

在失衡的狀況下、讓真正愛猴硐、愛貓、在乎貓兒在當地生活品質的朋友們真的心灰意冷。

其實台灣還有許多落後鄉鎮也需要推行觀光提升收入，

"名人推手" 更應該去幫助那些落後鄉鎮，

造出雙嬴局面，才是大家樂見其成的。

就沒那麼幸運，全慘死在火車輪下!

This is not fiction, but sad realities that we need to take action of.

Promoting the “Cat Vill” is clearly in favour of the authorities, it bring people thus money.Some might even think it is better for the cats who take their resident here. 
But, is it really?Cats are territory animal, they don’t like to be force to leave their comfort zone, but when tourist rushing, with they’re loud nose, bright light and traffics. They often got force away. 

They don’t want to play when taking naps, just like we do.
They don’t want to be touch by stranger, just like we do.
They are just trying to survive, just like we do.

Most tourists don’t know and some don’t even care to respect the cats. All those tourists just want to fulfil their ideal fantasies, created by the authorities. Such as taking pictures with cats, expect them to purr, capture the playful moments, etc. etc. 

With lack of promoting on tourists to respect the cats and the residents there, their quiet life become nosy and packs with crows of tourists.Some may think that at least the money that comes with tourists can change the life of cats. Sadly, the fact is not so. They still hungry most of the time, some still not getting the medical attention they needed. Not to mention some idiotic people got the wrong idea about this place, thought as if house cat can have a great life here, abandon those poor souls into wilderness.

If only the authorities can take this into account, they can not only boost the economics of the town but also let the cats have safe, quiet and healthy life.
What people really want to see?Healthy, happy, playful cats or sick, jumpy, tired cats?Don’t just weave the rosy veil, give the cats the care, the food and the respect they need, so they can be good promoter themselves.

The cat in the photo is "Peach". 
He was digging through rubbishes to find something to eat.Unlike some cats that born with short round tails, he’s was shorten by accident.And sadly, accidents are not some rare incidents in Houtong. Peach’s buddies, big balls "DiDi", "Po Gor" at the train station shop, ball-tail "Orange", were all the victims of train accidents, but unlike Peach that only got tail shorten, their lives were shorten.
